Creator Terms

Effective 2026-10-02 · Last updated 2026-09-30

These terms cover filmmakers who apply to FilmyAI. An application is a request for review. It is not creator approval, and it is not approval to publish a film.

1. Applying is not approval

These Creator Terms apply when you apply to offer a film on FilmyAI or when Sound Matrix accepts a film into the catalog. FilmyAI is curated. Submitting an application does not make you an approved creator, and it does not put a film on the service.

Creator approval and film content approval are separate decisions. Either one can be declined, delayed, or later withdrawn. Until both are granted, you have no right to publish on FilmyAI.

2. What you submit

You are responsible for the accuracy of your name, contact details, portfolio, and any description of the work. Do not include another person’s private information in an application unless you have a proper reason and the right to share it. Keep a copy of what you send; our review copy is for internal use.

3. Rights you grant

If a film is accepted, you grant Sound Matrix a non-exclusive licence to host, stream, encode, subtitle, display, and promote that film on FilmyAI and in FilmyAI marketing, worldwide, for as long as the title remains in the catalog and for a short wind-down afterwards so we can remove copies from caches and active campaigns.

You keep ownership of your film. This licence does not give Sound Matrix the right to sell the film outright to a third party, and it does not allow us to use your work to train a generative model. Any fee, revenue share, or other commercial term will be agreed in a separate written deal. These terms alone are not a promise of payment.

4. Your promises

You confirm that:

  • you have the rights needed to grant the licence above;
  • the film, title, artwork, music, performances, and likenesses do not infringe anyone else’s rights;
  • you have the rights required by any AI tool, stock library, or performer contract used to make the film, including for streaming on a curated service;
  • the film is not unlawful, and you will tell us if a claim arises.

You will indemnify Sound Matrix against third-party claims that arise from a breach of these promises, including reasonable legal costs, except to the extent the claim is caused by our own changes to the film.

5. Catalog standards and takedown

We may refuse or remove a film that we believe is unlawful, misleading about its authorship, or unfit for the FilmyAI catalog. We may do that without stating a detailed creative critique. If we remove a title, the licence for future streaming ends, and we will stop promoting it within a reasonable period. Takedown does not by itself admit that a claim is valid.

6. Credit and AI disclosure

We will present the film title and the creator name you supply, and we may state that the work was made with AI. You agree not to present a FilmyAI listing as an award, partnership, or employment with Sound Matrix unless we have said so in writing.

7. Ending these terms

You may ask us to close an unused application by writing to legal@sound-matrix.com. We may close an application or an approved creator relationship if these terms are broken or if we stop offering creator submissions. Sections that should survive — including licences already granted for titles still on the service, your promises, and liability limits from the Terms of Use — continue to apply. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy also apply to your use of the site. If those documents conflict with these Creator Terms on a creator-specific point, these Creator Terms control.
